Julia Guard, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, has been an integral part of SHA for almost twenty years. She is the rare teacher who builds deep and lasting relationships with her students and maximizes their potential by holding them to a high standard of excellence.
In addition to teaching 5th Grade, Julia has spearheaded several critical efforts, including our school-wide positive behavioral program, Project Shalom. Julia has maintained and strengthened SHA's commitment to excellent teaching. Julia leads SHA's mentorship program for development, and she is a longtime champion of the Fifth Grade Outdoor Education trip. Julia has a direct impact on the General Studies curriculum, leading teams and collaborating with Judaic Studies faculty. Her authenticity and genuineness also makes her a beloved colleague and a highly effective educational leader.
Julia leads by example, and we are honored to have her as part of our SHA faculty for almost two decades. We are thrilled that this year's Sunshine Award honoree is none other than Ms. Julia Guard!
Please consider a gift to SHA's Sunshine Campaign honoring Julia Guard. A donation of any amount is meaningful. Contact
