The path from pre-K to kindergarten is exciting and can also raise many questions regarding preparedness. SHA’s annual kindergarten readiness event, held each November, helps parents determine the best path for their children.
Thank you to University of Washington Haring Center Educational Specialist, Julie Ashmun, and our Kindergarten teachers, Katie Regala, Sonya Basseri and Lea Hanan for sharing their expertise and providing our families with strategies to ensure a smooth transition to Kindergarten. Fostering adaptability and a sense of wonder in learning new things and helping our children gain competence with self-regulation in the realm of social/emotional skills are valuable ways to support our children and help to facilitate this transition.
Kindergarten is a milestone year; it is our hope that we partner with parents to cultivate a love of life-long learning and curiosity!
